Western Australian stud, Stockdale, York, has topped up with new genetics after spending up to $10,000 on five rams recently.

As well as buying two rams at auction, Stockdale stud principal, Laurie Fairclough secured a Somerset ram by private sale for $10,000.
The ram was sold by Lachie McCrae's Somerset White Suffolk stud, Cavendish, who will retain a half semen share.
Mr Fairclough said the ram was a standout with his structural soundness and a "huge back end".
"He is really a standout White Suffolk ram. He has all the figures, including eating quality, as well as the structure. It's not often when all those things line up," Mr Fairclough said.
He said he was replacing some aging rams with new genetics with the purchase of the Somerset ram, two rams from Sunnybanks stud, and one ram each from the Booloola and Induro studs.
Somerset stud principal Lachie McCrae, said the sale ram was by far his highest sale price ram.
He said the ram, known as Somerset Landrace, was sired by Somerset 130153.
"His sire has been very successful and has bred more than 25 stud sires through the industry," Mr McRae said.
The sale ram had figures of 11.6 weaning weight, 18.7 post weaning weight and 3.0 muscle and a total carcase production index of 153.
Mr McRae said the ram in semen collection before heading to WA.
"There is interest in the ram and I've already sold semen," he said.
