Wagga Wagga, NSW, saw feedlots keen to secure heavier yearlings competing against processors in the market paying between 318-345c/kg for bigger lines of feeder steers weighing over 400kg, lifting prices up 11c/kg.
Restockers in the warmer parts of the state are beginning to dip their toes in the water.
At Wagga on Monday, the lighter portion of the yearling steers made between 258-345c/kg, jumping 17c/kg.
The grown steer and bullock run continues to be in a league of its own.
Leongatha's prices are staying strong with grown steers selling between 345-358c/kg.
Swan Hill hit 362c/kg to average 355c/kg, lifting 30c/kg.
Shepparton hit the sweet spot with a magnificent pen of young Angus bullocks selling for 362/kg.
The grass fed bullocks were purchased by a southern processor, weighing approximately 640kg.
Mortlake bullocks between 600-750kg sold between 282-338c/kg.
The heavy cow market remains buoyant across most centres, with processors continuing to dig deeper to secure numbers.
Swan Hill saw some strong results with the heaviest bodies selling between 270-309c/kg, pushing the heaviest females to $2280 a head.
