Tuesday Ballarat grabbed back the spotlight - for the time being - with a state record of $344 a head.
It was a draft of 75 from Andy Maher's Carlisle Farming, Dean, who received top price of $344 sold through TB White and Sons.
Next back was a consignment of 116 from James Sobey, Blowhard, whose lambs sold to $337, followed by 80 from Guthrie Farms, Dean.
They will get dearer and records could be broken on a weekly basis.

It's just four weeks ago that Ballarat topped the $300 mark for lambs. The next week Mr Maher got $305.
Joining the record breakers, on a centre basis, was Bendigo where RE & SL Pederson, Kamarooka, sold 73 lambs at $326.
As well as the top prices, values for lambs through the yarding have remained at high, but slightly off the peak.
According to the MLA National Livestock Reporting Service Ballarat heavy and extra heavy lambs were $10 to $20/head dearer and trade weights $10 to $12/head up on last week.
The service reported there were 10 sales above $300/head, representing 1030 lambs.
Medium trade weights sold from $203 to $239/head, averaging 930c/kg cwt. Trade weight lambs at times sold close to the 1000c/kg cwt mark, according to the service report.
At Bendigo on Monday the NLRS reported op quality lambs continued to come forward, with buyers willing to numbers remained low at 12,000 head as selling resumed after last week's public holiday.
There was some impressive heavy and trade lambs off supplementary feed yarded with six pens of extra heavy export lambs making from $300 to a top of $326/head.
