SIBLINGS Claudia and Hugo Humphries from Wattle Grove Speckle Park stud have proved hard work pays off during the Kelly's Finance Group Scone Speckle Park Youth Show, receiving a truck load of awards along with a scholarship each to attend the South Australian Junior Heifer Expo.

Supported by the Royal Melbourne Show Speckle Park committee, Hanging Rock Speckle Parks and Fish Creek Farm Speckle Parks, the inaugural scholarship had participants in the breed youth event nominate in pairs to be considered for the award.
The Humphries pair receives an all expenses paid trip to the SAJHE, two straws of semen from the 2018 Sydney Royal supreme Speckle Park exhibit Fish Creek Farm Storm M1, and a Sullivan Supply all black leather halter each.
Miss Humphries was also the grand champion herdsperson of the event, following on from her win of the senior section.
In the intermediate division, Mr Humphries was the reserve champion herdsperson and reserve champion junior judge, as well as a fourth placegetter in paraders.
Despite taking part in a number of shows and heifer shows across the country, this will be the first time they will be making the trip interstate to the SAJHE held in July.
This was not the only triumph from the Humphries family with Henry Humphries winning pee wee champion parader and herdsperson and placing third in junior judging, and Max Humphries receiving an acknowledgement award sponsored by Speckle Park International Inc.

Ryan Carpenter from Ridgeview Livestock took out grand champion parader after he won the sub-intermediate section judged by Jessica Grosser of J and J Grosser Livestock.
He was also the sub-intermediate champion herdsperson and judge, and reserve champion overall junior judge of the event.
Mr Carpenter won a scholarship to enter any junior heifer show of his choice with entry fee supported by Monique Estrada from Target Livestock and Marketing, Merriwa.
Judged by Tim Bayliss of Ray White Rural Dorrigo, intermediate competitor Sophie Worth of Walcha was the grand champion junior judge, following on from her age division win. Ms Worth won the opportunity to take part in a three-day judging course supported by Hillview Speckle Park stud.
Reserve champion overall parader went to Emma-Leigh Green, Singleton, who was champion intermediate parader, while her sister Josephine Green was the junior champion parader ahead of Axul Hourn, Merriwa, as reserve.
New Zealand competitor Tayla Hansen took out intermediate champion herdsperson, before going a step further being named the reserve champion overall.
Victorian competitor Paris Hourn, Flinders, was the champion senior parader, reserve champion senior judge and reserve champion senior herdsperson, while her sister Mia Hourn was reserve champion intermediate parader, third in junior judging and fourth in herdsperson.
Callie Hagan was reserve champion in the pee wee paraders, going a step further in junior juding to be named champion ahead of reserve champion, Sarah Randell, in the pee wee division.
Junior champion judge was Jasper Anderson who was also the reserve champion junior herdsperson, chipped at the post by champion Cambell Hinze.
Champion senior judge went to Abygael Rushton-Butler. Reserves in the other divisions were: Kieran Watts (junior) and Elly Charlton (sub-intermediate).
Travis Lamey was reserve sub-intermediate parader, while Angela McGrath was reserve senior.
In herdsperson reserves in the other age groups went to: Marshall Hinze (pee wee) and Bailey Anderson (sub-intermediate).
